Today we got our official schedules for the trimester! We are pretty busy, but arranged it so we have Friday’s off! This will open up a lot of travel opportunities for us (and will be great for when visitors, so come see us!)
I am teaching science in English to 1st, 3rd and 5th graders and Ross will be teaching the 2nd, 4th and 6th graders. We will also be teaching English Conversation classes, I’ll be doing 1st-4th grade and Ross has the 5th and 6th graders!
I am very interested to see what it will be like to work AND live together! I’ll have to post pictures of it soon, but our new place is really great. I realized today that our bathroom here is probably more than twice as big as our bathroom at home in the North End. And not only does it have a window in the bathroom, but I window with a view of the volcano!
It was a pretty intense day at school today, and tomorrow is the first day with students! It seems like we’ll be doing introductions and an assembly, but real classes will not start until next week. This is muy importante, especially considering our course load is much more science heavy than we were anticipating. Luckily, there are a TON of resources in the English department at our school and I think we can get it all together by next week.
It’s hard meeting new “family” and coworkers and potential new friends. I can’t help but miss MY existing family and coworkers and friends 😦 At least I have that window in the bathroom…
