No, that’s the wrong Montezuma. Mexico I believe? Costa Rica is a peaceful place. They don’t even have a military, and I don’t think they believe in revenge. Well I haven’t been to any other Montezuma, but I can assure you that Montezuma, Costa Rica is INCREDIBLE.
Even during Semana Santa, which is the holy week here and one of the most popular times for travel for both Ticos and tourists (since many schools and colleges in the States have their spring break around this time, and the Europeans are just always traveling.) the whole place was still really quiet, just a chill little beach town.
You will like it here if you like:
Sunsets and sunrises
Organic anything (but especially ice cream)
Pina Coladas, getting caught in the rain
and the feel of the ocean, and the taste of champange. Okay, I’ll stop (and there was no rain) but I’ve traveled to a good number of places and I must say this spot is one of my favorites. I have never been to a beach paradise and gotten the beautiful views, perfect weather, great food AND reasonable prices that we got here. 5 Stars.
The only downside? It’s not the easiest place to reach by public transport. Depending on where you’re coming from in the country (though probably San Jose) it’s going to take a few buses and a ferry to get there.
We are back teaching in La Fortuna, where it is approximately 1,000 degrees and no where near the Ocean. Le Sigh. I guess I’m going to have to settle for the gym tonight but I’ll be daydreaming about yoga on the beach!
